Cyberattack Disrupts Delaware County Court Filings and Operations

Delaware County reported an unauthorized intrusion that took place on June 26, 2026. According to the County website, such attempts “...Were part of a sophisticated cybercriminal attack on the County’s systems. The attackers were able to gain limited access to the County’s network and to access data maintained within the network.” While this is still under investigation, the County’s IT Department is hailing “substantial and valuable protections that have been in place since 2020.”

Padgett has not observed any noticeable impacts with respect to e-filing but the Sheriff’s and Recorder’s Offices have been experiencing challenges. Padgett, whose PA office is Delaware County-based is making in-person visits to the Recorder’s Office where needed. Our clients should anticipate potential delays during this ongoing and fluid situation. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
